Aquabox Collections

The most urgent single problem facing relief agencies in a disaster situation is the provision of a supply of safe drinking water.

The standard Aquabox has two functions. Firstly it is filled with a selection of warm clothing, useful hardware and hygiene items. Secondly after the contents are removed there is a filter cartridge and a supply of water treatment tablets sufficient to purify 1,100 litres of polluted water. This quantity will provide 4 people with 10 cups of water per day for 4 months.

In situations where the need is more prolonged or arises regularly, but permanent solutions are not available, Aquaboxes are supplied fitted with 30 filter sets only. Typically these are used under supervision in hospitals, clinics, schools and emergency field treatment centres.

Recently our Aquaboxes have been sent to Sierra Leone via the central distribution centre.
